Eastern Surfing Association and Gatorade Sign Partnership |

 VIRGINIA BEACH, May, 2009 - The Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) is happy to welcome Gatorade as the official beverage sponsor of the ESA surf series. As part of the new agreement, Gatorade will support ESA surf events, including Easterns – ESA’s championship event, happening in September in Cape Hatteras, NC.
“The ESA provides immense support to amateur east coast surfers and is dedicated to the growth and progression of surfing on a local, grassroots level,” said Kenny Mitchell, action sports team manager with Gatorade. |

 The ESA has always played an important role in who I am and has impacted how I view the world of surfing. I started surfing the spring of 1974 (age of 5) in Atlantic Beach Florida. I entered my first contest at the age of 8 (1977), then caught the fever to compete after my first contest. The ESA was my introduction to a bigger world of surfing beyond the beaches of North Florida. |

Southeastern College Surfing Championships To Coincide With O'Neill Sebastian Inlet Pro |

Sebastian Inlet, Fla. – The Collegiate Surfing Association (CSA) hosts its inaugural regional college surfing championships at Sebastian Inlet, Florida on Sunday, January 11, 2009, with the finals set to occur in front of a packed beach on Saturday, January 17 during the O’Neill Sebastian Inlet Pro, the biggest and most prestigious surfing contest on the U.S. East Coast. The finals will be held immediately following the Red Bull Tow-At and should hit the water about 2 p.m. |
