The Northeast Regional Championships were held in Montauk, NY where the wind and foul weather couldn't keep the crowd away. It was the most consistent contest in recent memory with the waves holding up even on the day of the finals - chest high & glassy. While the competitors were catching good surf, the Transworld SURF and SoBe sponsors built a bon fire on the beach to try to keep everyone warm.
